Trouble Falling Asleep

Trouble falling asleep? I have a few tips for you to try and solve your sleep problem.

I’m back.  Had a nice little nap here in the afternoon.  You know some experts say if you can catch a nap sometime during the day, do it! It will help you if  you are having trouble falling asleep.  A little 45 minute to 90 minute siesta can make you feel more energized during the day.  Just don’t take your siesta close to bedtime.  You won’t be tired and then you will have even more trouble falling asleep.

Of course this little tidbit of info isn’t any good for all of you that can t fall asleep to begin with.

Here are a few tidbits of info for ya to help all of you out there that have a problem sleeping.  Try these basic things to see if they help you.

First thing.  Make sure your bedroom is dark.  It’s hard enough falling asleep, but when your room is bright it makes it that much more difficult.  Go out and get yourself some of those room darkening blinds from walmart.  They are only like 3 bucks or something.

Next thing.  Don’t have any distractions in the bedroom.  NO TV!  While it may seem like it makes sense,  It did to me for a long time but not anymore, It really doesn’t when you see what is happening.  Having the TV on stimulates your brain and gets it engaged in what is happening on the screen.  You may think it’s going to make you tired.  What happens is that you get tired of watching it, think that you are therefore tired, and shut it off expecting to be counting sheep in a couple of minutes.  Doesn’t happen.  It compounds the touble falling asleep factor.  Your brain is stimulated from watching it, you shut it off,  and your brain is still going.  Now you can’t fall asleep.  So you turn the TV back on and stimulate your brain some more and the whole cycle starts all over again.  Before you know it it’s 4 a.m and you have not been able to get a good night sleep.

Keep that room dark and quiet people.  Those are 2 of the first steps to the road of eliminating your trouble falling asleep.

When you are having trouble falling asleep, try and do what I just told you.  Read on to the next posts for more tips when you are having trouble falling asleep.
